Borland 5.02

Released in 1997 by Borland For Windows 95/NT - but I typically run it on a Windows 2000 virtual Machine

Borland C++ targeted the professional application development market, while Turbo C++ targeted the home and hobbyist market. Borland C++ included additional tools, compiler code-optimization, and documentation to address the needs of commercial developers. In 1997 Borland C++ was replaced with Borland C++ Builder.

This version requires 32-bit Windows 95 or NT. It can still produce executables for DOS and Windows 3.1.

This was the last full version of the product before it was replaced with Borland C++ Builder. Borland released a free download of "Borland c++ 5.5", but that was a minimal command line version.

Do yourself a favor

Do yourself a favor! First of all, install this on a Windows 2000 virtual machine. Second, when you get to the screen pictured below, click the "Association Details" button and uncheck everything with the one possible exception of the ".IDE" file. Borland 5.02 was not very nice about stealing existing file associations.
