The MS Windows Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) can be a bit tricky to debug due to it's nature: it spans multiple servers and configurations.
This simple windows console utility aims to make it easier to confirm the working or defunct state of your DTC configuration across two or more computers running SQL Server.
Usage: SQLDTCTest.exe <Server1> [<Server2>...] - Required: <Server1>: this would the the first server to connect to.
- Optional <Server2>: the second server to connect to.
- Optional <ect...>
Basically, each server should be passed to the application separated by a single space. It is important to remember that DTC will also enlist the computer on which SQLDTCTest is running BUT unless you pass the local machine name to SQLDTCTest, it will not actually attempt to connect to SQL Server on the local machine.
